I like the direction this is going...Weight Loss

When I was on vacation, I came to the realization that I am FAT!!! At least, to myself I am. If you knew where I'd come from, that would make sense to you and you would agree - I used to weigh 105 lbs, and I lifted weights to GAIN weight (5 days a week, 1-2 hours each day) - Yeah, I was kinda obsessed at that time and I wanted to be a fitness model! LOL. So, 60 lbs later - yeah, I'm not happy with myself.

I never considered myself a "poor eater" - I know how to read labels, and I know what I SHOULD eat - that is 1/2 the battle for most people. However, I will admit that I've developed some bad habits lately - probably because I find comfort in food when I'm stressed out or feeling down. Those bad habits included ice cream several times a week (I can sit down and eat 1/2 gallon of Edy's slow churned with no problem) - yeah, its "slow churned" but if you eat half the container! Well ya know that's not good! And I love me some Dairy Queen, Sonic Blasts-Graeters....MMMM. And I do enjoy some fast food - it tastes sooooo good! MMMM.

Anyhoo, the bad habits have to be controlled if I am to lose some lbs. So, almost 2 weeks ago (it will be 2 weeks this coming Tues)....I started making the changes I needed to. No more "BLT with egg on Croissont for breakfast" - ice cream ONCE a week - FAST food ONCE a week - FRIED food once a week, TOPS. If I can do without ANY of these things, then GO ME. I replaced the ice cream in the freezer with frozen yogurt so I can put fresh berries on it...yummy for summer berries. I have been exercising in the form of riding my bike - but I stepped it up to more frequent, longer rides.

So in this short time I've changed some things, I've lost 3-4 lbs - I am 2 lb s away from my FIRST TARGET (I'm targeting in 5 lb increments). The ultimate goal is to be a comfortable Size 7 again (I used to be a 3).

The really awesome thing is that when I do lose weight, it does NOT come off the boobies! It always comes off my problem area first - AKA "THE MUFFIN TOP ZONE."

I do have to recommend a book for everyone that is just trying to eat better in general and maybe lose a few lbs in the process- it is called "EAT THIS NOT THAT" (you can get it at amazon.com) - Its quite eye opening, and a great shopping companion. I also have their book that helps you guide through eating out, but I can't remember the name.

So, that's my update - I'm headed out to walk to the farmers market! Yay for local farmers!
