Ick - Warning Gross Medical Stuff ahead !

So its my first post since I had surgery.

The past several days have not been fun. I have to admit, this has been way more gross and uncomfortable than I ever imagined.

I was supposed to go back to work today, but I just couldn't do it.

Let's start with the day of the surgery - It was "moved up" by an hour or so..what a joke! I went to the pavillion early, and then the actual surgery ended up being several hours later. I couldnt eat/drink after midnight, so by 2 pm the next day, I was a wreck. I had a migraine from the stress and no caffeine, and I was STARVING. I knew it was only going to go downhill from there. God bless my mom, for sitting there with me the entire time and never complaining. She is awesome.

Ultimately, Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty much a blur. General anesthesia always makes me throw up, so I addressed this with the doctor. He said he'd give me something in my IV to take care of it. I wake up, no nausea..yay! Well that didnt last long..when I woke up at home after a few hours of sleep, I felt horrific...between the headache and the drugs...it wasn't pretty. I ended up barfing pretty hard, multiple times..nothing but water, of course...which I surely needed to keep in my body - I was and still am, worried about dehydration (oh yeah, I had to drink a bottle of mag citrate the day before surgery, so I shot water out of my ass for 24 hours which isnt good for fluid retention either!)

Mom got my drugs for me (Vicadin), and my sis was and did stay with me for a few days..yay! I was sad when she went home last night. Anyhoo, the weirdest side effect was not being able to sleep lying down! I still can't. I think its from the gas they inflate your tummy with - its like when I lay down it tries to settle and lets face it, there isnt a lot of extra room in your abdomen - so it turns out being unbearable until I sit up. It seems to "settle" after a while though, and then I can lay down..but still = it doesnt equal quality sleep which is a must for me.

I also woke up after surgery with a maxi pad stuck in my crotch. I didnt know I might bleed afterwards until the nurse told me - and I of course, didnt have any panties on because of surgery so that was weird. Mom had to buy me pads at the pharmacy - I havent even seen one in person for 20 years! I hate them! But guess what, I'm not allowed to put anything in my vagina for 2 weeks...WAAAAAAAAAH! I guess that wont be a problem though, the plumber is on the shit list again. He doesnt deserve me in any way, shape or form so he certainly isnt sticking his dick in any part of me anytime soon, if ever again.

At least the bleeding was very minor, almost non-existent. I didnt realize how "non-maxi pad friendly" my panty wardrobe is however, as well as most of the clothes and pajamas I own. I cant stand to wear anything that puts any pressure on my tummy, so I havent gotten dressed since Tuesday. I havent looked at my belly button (where the incision is), because every time I think about it I want to pass out - and if I actually look, I will pass out. That would be bad, ya think?

Well, I'm feeling lightheaded again, so this is it for now.

Thanks for everyone that wished me well.... :)
