FINALLY! An answer - CT Scan IS BACK!
Well what do you know....a test came back and SHOWED SOMETHING!
"Suspicious for gallstones."
Excuse me? "Suspicious?" I've had an ultrasound and a HIDA scan, both came back negative. I have a CT scan with rather unexpected results, and oddly enough, the radiologist recommends "follow up with an ultrasound." AAAAh, the medical profession. We did the ultrasound first, monkey man!
So I asked the nurse "how do we go from suspicious to a confirmation, because ya'll aren't cuttin' on me without a firm diagnosis." - she said the surgeon may want to do additional testing (good gawd, what now). So, I meet with the surgeon on 12/12. Yikes.
My list of lifetime ailments is not impressive - I had my tonsils and wisdom teeth (all 6 - yeah, I'm a freakazoid) out when I was in my 20's, and a kidney stone blasted in early 2000. That's it. So umm..I'm a bit terrified by the prospect of surgery that requires a several week recovery period.
Nonetheless, I'm glad that something finally showed up, so at least my mom knows I"m not completely nuts !
