Oh, poor Kitty!!!!

Oh poor SWEETS!
Bad idea - super long haired OUTSIDE kitten. But that's where she wants to be! If she comes in the house, she freaks out because of Gus the Crack Kitten and runs and hides or bolts for the door! Drawback - constant knots of hair...dirty kitten...and the occasional lost battle with BURS. You see where I'm going..SWEETS gone for a day. SWEETS comes home. As SWEETS is eating, I wonder "where the heck is her tail?" I go outside...try to lift up her tail - only to discover its a ratted mess, stuck to her underside because of BURS...I pick her up..there are BURS all over her underside..legs..simply DREADFUL! I try to pull some out, she GROWLS at me! (she's NEVER done that - she is called SWEETS for a reason!). I freak out - call every groomer in town - no one will take her - it is after all, a Saturday and nobody wants to do the lady a favor.
Call mom to the rescue. Hours later, mom came over - held her down while I went to work with scissors and a comb - it was the grossest thing I'd ever done - because her tail was matted to her underside, there was nowhere for her...umm.."waste" to go but right into her fur. Almost vomited. Cried because I thought I was hurting her as I tried to clean her up. SUCCESS! Mom and I manage to free her tail - and make a message of the kitchen at the same time. An hour later, we'd done all we could do.
Call the groomer Monday and make an appt for them to finish the job. $170 later (exam, shot updates, flea treatment, grooming), I have one crazy looking CLEAN cat!!! She's so adorable!!! Funny, I let her out of her carrier and she walked around all funny, like "where in the hell is my hair?"
I now have me a little lion as a pet! ("before" pic wont upload for some reason!)
PS - if anyone wants to donate toward the vet/groomer bill, let me know! I wasnt quite ready for a $170 hit the wallet :(
